Help CROWD-FUND a new photographic book on post-genocide Armenia by Judith Crispin and Houry Mayissian. The book will collate photographs taken on a recent journey through Armenia by Judith and others to investigate the loss of a significant Armenian cemetery at Djulfa with its hundreds of medieval cross-stones known as khachkars. Judith writes: We took a road trip from Yerevan across the frozen Meghri pass to the Iranian and Azerbaijani borders at Agarak. This region is subject to ongoing military tensions and we were only able to travel with Armenian guides and drivers. I was able to photograph the stunning landscapes, the Armenian and indigenous Yezidi people, and the many religious monuments along the way.Historical, cultural and anecdotal commentaries will accompany the images and we intend to create a book that draws attention to the beauty and strangeness of modern Armenia while, at the same time, underscoring the poverty and suffering brought about by a century of conflict. if youre in - or interested - get more information at: pozible/project/181730
