Help!!! OK I need some assistance from all my friends that have management experience own a business or just feel like I can offer some good advice. I own an Italian ice and ice cream store. I have a manager that I have running the place and his major responsibility is setting up the schedule for all the other employees and making sure that it is followed. I got a call from him today saying that the employee that normally works on Saturday AM had called him earlier in the week to request switching her schedule with him the manager himself. He agreed, that was several days ago. He then called me today to tell me that it was his fault and he totally forgot that he had switched shifts today with the other employee that was supposed to work the morning shift. As a result my store remained closed from 10 oclock in the morning till 5 oclock at night generating zero dollars in revenue. It all is the fault of the manager . So my quandary is this how do I handle the situation? Do I dock the managers shift salary the next time he works and not pay him for a shift? Is there a better way? or do I do nothing and just give a warning? Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
