Help Seller Central Help: Account Settings: Getting Started: Individual Selling Plan Individual Selling Plan The Individual selling plan is a pay-as-you-go plan that provides access to a basic set of listing and order management tools. Individual sellers can create listings one at a time by matching their products to existing pages or creating new pages in the Amazon.ca catalogue. Amazon sets the shipping rates for orders and determines which shipping service levels sellers can offer to buyers. Individual sellers dont pay fees to Amazon unless an item sells. If you dont need access to volume selling tools or Amazon Marketplace Web Service APIs to run your business, you may find that an Individual selling plan is more cost effective than paying a monthly subscription fee of CDN$ 29.99 as a Professional seller. Instead of a monthly fee, Individual sellers pay a per-item fee of CDN$ 1.49 when the item sells, in addition to the applicable Referral Fees and Variable Closing Fees. For more information about fees for Individual sellers and Professional sellers, see the Selling on Amazon Fee Schedule. Heres a simple cost-benefit analysis that might help in deciding whether to switch your selling plan. At a pay-as-you-go rate of $1.49 per item, you would need more than 40 sales per month to offset a $29.99 subscription fee: 20 x $1.49 fixed closing fee = $29.80. If you have fewer than 20 sales per month, or if you have seasonal fluctuations in your sales, the Individual selling plan may be right for you. Additional details about the differences between the Professional and Individual selling plans can be found on the Change Subscription or Close Selling Account page, where youll also find instructions for switching your selling plan. Sellers can easily switch between the Individual and Professional selling plans, so you can upgrade your account when you need access to additional features or when it becomes cost-effective for you to use the Professional selling plan. Creating Listings As an Individual seller, you list your products for sale on Amazon one at a time using the Inventory tools in your seller account. The Manage Inventory tool lets you match your product to an existing detail page in the Amazon.ca catalogue. If the item isnt in the catalogue yet, you can create a page for it using the Add a Product tool. Please note that certain products may not be listed or sold on Amazon.ca. In addition, selling in some categories requires prior approval from Amazon. Learn more about Category, Product and Listing Restrictions. Shipping Levels and Delivery Expectations Individual sellers are expected to ship all orders within two business days of the date the order notification is made available by Amazon. All Individual sellers are required to offer Domestic Standard shipping. You may also elect to include shipping to the United States or shipping to other international locations. Domestic Standard For sellers shipping within Canada, the buyer should receive the order within 4-10 business days from the shipment date. For sellers shipping to Canada from international locations other than the United States, the buyer should receive the order within 7-32 business days from the shipment date. Priority Domestic The order should be received within 1-3 business days from the shipment date. The priority domestic shipping option is available for Books, Music, Videos, and DVDs (BMVD) only. United States For sellers shipping from Canada or the United States, the buyer should receive the order within 4-10 business days from the shipment date. For sellers shipping to the United States from international locations other than Canada, the buyer should receive the order within 7-32 business days from the shipment date. Other International Shipments For international shipments to countries other than the Unites States (or Canada), the buyer should receive the order within 6-8 weeks from the shipment date, though it may take up to 8-12 weeks depending on customs delays. Shipping Rates When you sell your items using the Individual selling plan, Amazon collects a per-item shipping fee from the buyer and passes it on to you. The shipping rate depends on the product category of the item you are selling and the shipping method selected by the buyer. Shipment is required even if the shipping amount does not cover all of your shipping costs. The following table shows the shipping rates set by Amazon.ca and collected from buyers: Product Domestic Standard Priority Domestic United States Other International Books $6.49 $12.98 $7.99 $14.98 Music $3.49 $12.48 $7.49 $7.99 Videos $6.49 $12.98 $7.99 $14.98 DVDs $3.49 $12.48 $7.49 $7.99 Video Games $4.99 Not available $7.49 Not available Software $4.99 Not available $7.49 Not available Other Categories $4.99 + $1.99/kg* Not available Not available Not available * Refers to the weight of the item, excluding the sellers packaging.
