Pulling a trailer with a thousand-pound rescued cow home to the sanctuary. A heavy-duty pickup truck at a farmed animal sanctuary puts in a lot of work and is an essential piece of equipment. The VINE Sanctuary heavy-duty pickup truck is no longer up to the task. After pieces of the exhaust system literally fell out, the garage said it would cost more to fix than the truck is worth—and there would be no guarantee against another major problem. VINE Sanctuary needs a reliable heavy-duty pickup truck before the heavy snows of winter fall. A late model used truck with minimum wear would be sufficient. Looking at the range of such trucks available in our area, we see that we need at least $20,000. But, since we had poured thousands into fixing up the old truck only last year, we did not anticipate having to make such a purchase this year. Our vehicle budget for the year has already been tapped. Luckily, an anonymous benefactor has stepped up with a challenge to VINE Sanctuary supporters. This donor will match all contributions to our truck fund, dollar for dollar, thereby doubling every gift.
