Help a Mom Looking for Support - Bullying: Today was pretty rough at our play group. Some kids threw rocks at my son...My son has some funny differences and has a hard time fitting in due to being autistic. I have avoided many social interactions with other kids because of it. He is highly intelligent but seems to miss read common social cues. He is nearing ten years old and I still do not know how to handle a broken heart from another kid picking on him. He tends to just get angry and explode for hours afterwards. The problem is when he starts being angry he becomes violent and that becomes a danger to the other kids. I seriously blame the anti bully campaign for some of his hang ups. We teach our kids if someone is bullying you tell a grownup and they will protect you, but we do not teach our kids what to do when the grownups views it as kids play and ignores it. Sam throws a temper tantrum when he thinks the other child should be punished. I am encouraging him to play or do something else but as a moth to the flame he handles the situation. Ugh now we have two problems. My son is viewed a troublemaker and the other child is now crying. We didnt figure it out at two and suddenly he is ten.
