Help guys! My ND buck broke a scur off this evening and we are having an awful time controlling the bleeding! Right now we have it controlled with his head wrapped in an ace bandage, and we have him in a dog crate inside for the night. The bandage is kind of tight, though. He had no trouble breathing, but his face is a little swollen (probably also from the trauma from the break). We tried to change his bandage after it was wrapped for several hours, but it started bleeding again. Should we leave it wrapped until the morning? Should we get a vet to cauterize it? Im afraid to upset him by giving him any shots or ibuprofen tonight, it seems like if he gets stressed it bleeds more. I am so worried about him. I have heard that broken scurs look worse than they really are, but he looks so bad and scary. :( I cant get a vet until the am, so any advice would be really appreciated, I am freaking out.
