Help with nearly silent LP! (long post) I have a 2008 Les Paul - TopicsExpress

Help with nearly silent LP! (long post) I have a 2008 Les Paul Standard Plus. Great guitar, but I could never get comfortable with 2 volumes. So I decided to get it rewired for a single volume control. All brand new pots. I had the PCB board taken out, and regular pots put in for the master volume and neck tone control. For the bridge tone control, I had them put in a push-pull pot that, when pulled out, could engage the blender pot that I had put in to replace the bottom volume control. It can blend the level of the 2 pickups when the selector switch is in the middle position. It doesnt do anything when the bridge tone pot is pushed in. I dont use it much, but I thought it was a clever use for the extra space where there was no longer a volume pot. One other thing I had added was a volume kit (resistor/capacitor), which I have on all my guitars. I had this work done by a reputable repair shop recommended by someone who ought to know. So, I pulled it out after not playing it for a few weeks, and put a fresh set of strings on it. I go to plug it into the amp, and nearly no sound comes out, no matter what I do with the controls. I thought at first it was the amp, so I pulled out another guitar -- amp works perfectly. Back to the LP, nearly no sound. I notice at first when I bumped that blender pot, it got loud briefly. But when I continued to do it, nothing. The volume pot does affect the level, such as it is. It was hard to tell because its so quiet, but it also seems like neither of the tone pots make any change for either of the pickups, no matter the config of the controls. The headline is a little misleading, because some sound comes out, just very very little. I opened up the back, and poked around. No obvious loose wires, no crackling when poking around with a screwdriver, everything seems pretty tight. Not the most beautiful job Ive ever seen, and that makes me a little unhappy and suspicious. But its worked perfectly for at least 3 years til now. The cavity is shielded, as well as the cavity for the switch. Any ideas what the issue might be? Im can solder a little, sloppily, so am loath to jump in and start un-soldering anything without any direction. My first suspicion is the push-pull pot, but I thought Id better ask those with more knowledge first! Do parts like that suddenly go bad? I dont remember the brand of the push/pull, but I know the volume and tone are DiMarzio brand. So, I think they used at least decent parts. Or, where else might I try? Thanks in advance.
