Component: Traffic Law Administration, Motor Vehicle Administration, Cape Town Department: Transport and Public Works Reference: TPW 59/2013 Job Purpose To provide functional and operational support to registering authorities and other National Traffic Information System (eNaTIS) users as well as members of the public. Minimum Requirements... Requirements: • Grade 12 (Senior certificate or equivalent qualification) - NQF 4; • A minimum of 3 years appropriate administrative experience. Job Specification... Key performance areas: • Provide functional and operational support to the 76 registering authorities in the Western Cape; • Deal with telephonic enquiries from the ± 1.6 million motor vehicle owners in the Western Cape and assist the public with regard to MVA related matters at a Walk-In Centre; • Conduct error reporting of the ±150 eNaTIS sites in the Western Cape (Logging of hardware, software and network malfunctioning with the eNaTIS contractor); • Verify and capture motor vehicle registration and licensing transactions on the eNaTIS; • Implement Provincial and National policies; • Liaise with various organisations, e.g. South African Police Service, National Department of Transport, SABS/NRCS, Department of Home Affairs, SARS, etc.; Competencies: • Knowledge of the following: o National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996) and the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000; o National Traffic Information System (eNaTIS); o Knowledge and experience in dealing with the public directly; • Proven computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook); • Good communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape Province; Note: Only shortlisted applicants will receive further correspondence.
