Helping our farmers This summer, pineapple farmers are harvesting with an added challenge. What to do with smaller pineapples? It’s been a long cool winter in Queensland with multiple cold snaps and a couple of frosts. So, the pineapples have flowered earlier and off a smaller plant. This means smaller and lower yielding fruit. For farmers in central Queensland, this is their major crop and are feeling the pinch. These pineapples are sweet and ready to eat. Rather than digging them back in or throwing them out, we said send them in! Our farmers at Tropical Pines were grateful! For Australian Day To help out these pineapple farmers, Aussie Farmers Direct are promoting these delicious, sweet pineapples as the perfect summer treat in time for Australia day. We have a special promotional offer as well. For the next couple of weeks, we are celebrating being Australian. Get customers to buy this iconic Aussie pineapple because: · A BBQ plate needs to feed the vegetarians; · BBQ lamb needs flavour and juiciness; and, · Hamburgers are Aussie, so bump the pickle. And pineapple in any smoothie, fruit salad or healthy lunch box is full of vitamin C goodness, natural fibre and anti-oxidants. So eaten fresh or from the BBQ, these snack-size pineapples will out a sweet smile on your dial. It will help our farmers and put a smile on their faces too! Promotional offer Pineapples will be in our set boxes for the next 2 weeks and we will be running a 3 for $5 Pineapple deal of both Pick and Pack and the M+B top up.
