Henry Armknecht and Jeff Calhoun got video with sound of a PACIFIC WREN at Scott State Park in western Kansas on Dec. 20. The vocalizations have passed the spectrograph test and have also been identified as Pacific Wren by a qualified academic. This will be a 1st state record if accepted which I believe will be the case. The video is on YouTube at https://youtube/watch?v=nyVdK7tLsk0 Just as a general comment, any birders traveling I-70 with time to burn might strongly consider a side trip to this state park which is worth a birding stop at any time of the year. The list of interesting migrants and vagrant species that have occurred there over the years is long.
