I have loved Maple trees since I was a child playing in my Great Grandmothers yard running and diving into the newly fallen leaves. And any child will tell you that a Maple tree is great to climb in. But it’s the excitement that the colors from Maple trees give your soul in the fall that is incredible. Somehow Maple trees seem to be able with the approaching change of the year to energize your soul. As these colors from the Maple trees begin to burst forth in red, gold, purple, orange and pink. You realize as you watch the brisk fall evenings that are filled with the amazingly fire like sunsets and the crisp fresh fragrance the approaching seasons, nothing can be more empowering than this. Folk Names; Rock Maple and Sugar Maple. Magickal Powers; Life, Love, Court, Protection and Money. Maple trees will bring long live to those whom have Maple growing in their yard and protection from hard winters and dangers from the unknown world. Maple leaves can be carried or added to protection, money and love spells and the wood carved into charms and amulets will also lend strength and powers. Children who play beneath the branches of Maple trees will have long and happy lives. Witches will use Maple wood for many of the magickal uncharged tools and fires. Medial Uses; Syrup, Tonic, and Food Source. Maple trees have been used since the beginning of times as and herb and for its strength in lumber. The sap from Sugar Maples is used to make Maple syrup. This same sap can be used in drink or cooking to as a mild tonic. The seeds wings are edible and can be soaked in salt and roasted to eat by removing the wings.
