Here are a few photos from Mongolia during my visit with Dr. Jack Weatherford, the eminent Anthropology Professor and author of the NY Times bestseller, Chinggiz Khan and the Making of the Modern World. This man is an amazingly charming and charismatic personality. His beautiful soul is replete with youthful wonder and passion and his curiosity keeps his keen mind active even in his 70s. Dr. Weatherford’s unquenchable thirst for unearthing and disclosing the secrets to Chinggiz Khan’s great success led him on a journey that continues after over two decades. He was awarded Mongolia’s highest national honor, the Order of the Polar Star. In 2012, the 850th birthday of Chinggiz Khan, audio recordings of Weatherford’s books were aired for four months at monasteries and museums all over Mongolia. The book has been translated into more than twenty languages and we discussed the possibility of me doing a Persian translation to make the book more accessible to Persian speakers around the world. It was an inspiring visit with a humble and amazing man.
