Here are five ways that you can help grow our local food system by joining us at the Heirloom TomatoFest tomorrow! 1. Visit the market booth and join Community Farm Alliance. They are doing great work in South Central, KY. 2. Donate to the Planting Seeds Program (at the NMA booth) to help small, start-up local food businesses take the next step. 3. Buy as much food this week as possible from local farmers. Need budget friendly, delicious meal ideas? Visit the chef table hosted by Josh Poling, owner of Home Cafe & Marketplace. 4. Sign up to volunteer at the market, Food For All garden, or at a local farm. 5. See and taste the difference in heirloom varieties with our tomato tasting table starting at 9:30 am. Visit the market around 11:00 am and learn tips on canning and seed saving.
