Here are photos of Louise, my simian companion, plunging into the holiday season. New hairdo, new nail polish, and new dress and hat for the Thanksgiving feast at the Desert Bistro in Moab. On Saturday she joined me at the Salvation Army kettle in front of the City Market, helping draw attention to the opportunity for giving something to a good cause. It’s the 70th year at the kettle for me, and the first for Louise. She was a smash hit – people smiled and laughed and had their pictures taken with her. And the attention she drew helped fill the bucket to overflowing. Not a shabby contribution for a stuffed lady orangutan. Whatever works . . . even if it’s foolish.
