Here are some answers to some of the in-car camera questions which we are receiving by text, email, Facebook and phone... (If you want the price list, simply go to gedclai.re/incarcams) - What are the benefits of having an in-car camera? That all depends on what you might want to use it for. Some use an in-car camera system simply for evidence in case of a crash (or even getting their car bumped whilst left unattended in a public car park). Others like to save clips of near-misses or crashes to use as educational clips to use on lessons (or share on Facebook/YouTube). Some ADIs like to use the camera recordings in car with their pupils, i.e. to review a particular incident from the last few minutes. For this, you will need a suitable mobile device and a WiFi capable in-car system. - Which of the systems on your list is most suitable for my needs? Firstly, if a WiFi connection is important for you for video playback on a mobile device, then you will need to choose one of the Blackvue WiFi capable cameras. The Thinkware cameras do not have this capability, although they do have a higher video recording quality. For more detailed queries about individual camera specifications, I am afraid we cant help you there - there is more detail on the full range of Blackvue cameras here: blackvue/en/contents/sub1.asp?idx=25 Otherwise, you could either do a Google search for the model you are interested in (there are usually some good clips and reviews on YouTube), or have a chat with the supplier detailed on the price list we sent out. Whats the difference between a 1 channel system and a 2 channel system? Each channel represents the video feed from a camera. A 1 channel setup basically means that there is 1 camera (usually forward facing). A 2 channel setup means there are 2 cameras (usually one forward facing and one rear facing, attached to the rear window). Both channels record to one memory card. If you can stretch to the 2 camera setup, wed definitely recommend it. - Do the camera packages come with everything you need, or do you need any extra accessories? I personally have the Blackvue DR550GW-2CH fitted in my car. It came with all the fixtures and fittings I needed. Extra accessories are available on the price list, such as the Power Magic Pro. If in doubt, contact the supplier detailed on the price list for further pre-sales support and guidance. - What is the Power Magic Pro unit and do I need one? On most modern vehicles, the auxiliary power shuts off after 5-10 minutes of the engine being switched off. This will mean that your camera system will also shut off, so no recordings will take place whilst your vehicle is parked. If you want to record whilst parked, the Power Magic Pro unit will enable this to happen, as it bypasses your cars auxiliary system and runs from the battery itself. For more information on the Power Magic Pro unit, see this video: https://youtube/watch?v=4CdwNxarVRs (I ordered one of these units, which arrived today. Im not brave enough to try and fit it myself, so will be getting a local auto-electrician to fit it for me.) - Is VAT and delivery included in the price? On page 8 of the price list, it states: *All Prices displayed are VAT free and a special discounted ADI price only. *A shipping cost of £5 only is applied to per order, all items are shipped fully insured with a delivery of 1-3 working days. So basically, the price you see is the price you pay, PLUS £5 for delivery. Hope that helps! :D
