Here are the last three Thanksgiving memories posts that earned free books--thank you to all! And watch for a new contest tomorrow! Jody Welch Teets made me smile. She wrote: Eating wild turkey at my inlaws and finding buckshot. Lee Blackwells entry reminded me of our days in the military. Lee wrote: I grew up in a military family and we always invited the single GIs to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at our house. As a military wife I was able to continue this tradition. They were always the best holidays and some of the funniest! I sure do miss them! And from Lori Lang, a memory with a large serving of heart: Lori wrote: our children are grown and out on their own and live a few hundred miles from home, one year we made arrangements to meet, not quite mid-way, at our 80 acres of hunting land and have Thanksgiving there. One youngest daughter called to say she was having car problems and wouldnt be able to join us. My husband and others came in from hunting and I told them she wouldnt make it, he looked around at everyone else and said, Well, pack up the meal and lets go to her house. Within a half hour the entire meal and family was on our way to her house - about a two and a half hour drive. She had the table set, candles lit and the oven ready. Dinner was later than planned but we were together. Our motto that day: Have Turkey Will Travel.
