Here are the lyrics to the beloved chorus “He’s Able” written by Paul E. Paino in 1958. However, after the original words are given, I have included new words for those who like to sing He’s able, He’s able, I know He’s able; I know my Lord is able to carry me through. (Sing twice) He healed the broken-hearted and set the captive free; He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see. He’s able, He’s able, I know He’s able; I know my Lord is able to carry me through. “HE’S ABLE, HE’S ABLE” - (Alternate Words for the middle section) From Egypt He delivered, He set His people free; He saved them from the ten dread plagues, And opened the Red Sea. He took them through the desert, He gave them quail to eat, He gave them daily manna, and Kept sandals on their feet. He gave them clear, fresh water, From desert-rock so dry; He healed them from the serpent bites And let them not all die. For forty years He led them, And every need supplied, For forty years He showed His care And how He could provide. He gave them His instructions, His Law He did convey; He taught them e’er to trust in Him, And taught them to obey. He opened, too, the Jordan, Its waters did divide; He took them through on hard, dry ground Safe to the other side. He’ll lead me in my deserts, He’ll help me through life’s woes, He’ll every need of mine provide, Then give, at last, repose. © Written by WDB on June 12, 2013 in the Merrill Chapel of Silent Word Ministries in Trenton, Georgia. Each verse of this poem may be sung as substitutionary words in the middle of the chorus to “He’s Able, He’s Able” by Dr. Paul E. Paino.
