Here at #456, a band I hadnt been introduced to before, the weirdly-named Helmet with Meantime. I may not have heard them before, but man, if this album was really as influential as it seems, I have definitely heard them a million times before, in every single bouncy, slack-jawed, clean-cut alternative band of the 90s. They do have a kind of heaviness of their own, but, like all the other bands that sound like them, its very contained, very carefully managed... too careful. Listening to alternative metal is like drinking ODouls; sure it might SEEM like beer, but you might as well just have a soda. youtube/watch?v=f5mB9U07DT0
