Here comes a revolutionary step of Modi Government. Scania Commercial Vehicles India handed over India’s first Ethanol-fuelled city bus to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) for a trial run. The bus was flagged off by Shri Nitin Gadkari. These Buses will be deployed in Maharashtra,Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu very soon. Why Ethanol?? 1. Ethanol is a very cost effective alternative for Diesel and Petrol. 2. Ethanol is produced in huge quantity in India. It is actually a by product of Sugarcane Industry. 3. India can save Billions of Dollars in its Oil import bill every year. 4. Ethanol is a Green Fuel, hence less Pollution and Green House gas impact on environment. 5. Ethanol is good for Vehicles life. An Ethanol operated Bus can easily run for more than 20 years. Modi Government is working with few Automobile companies like Fiat to import Ethanol based Engines in India. Imagine if our Public Transport and Carriage Transport migrates to Ethanol?
