Here in Las Vegas where I argued a case before a 3-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit in the moot courtroom at UNLV law school. The judges were Kozinski, Reinhardt, and Bybee --the latter of Bush era torture memo fame. All of the judges were very engaging. Within a minute, my script went out the window with the whole thing turning into a conversation and the court not caring about time limits which normally it strictly adheres to. The huge courtroom was packed mostly with law students for this special court visit to LV. Before the session started, a bomb-sniffing pooch with a warrant clutched in his teeth conducted its inspection, unlike in the case I was arguing where social social workers had no warrant clutched in their teeth when they grabbed my kid client, which is what we were there to argue about.
