Here in the office, we have been processing the news that Studio Ghibli, the worlds most beloved animation studio, has been announcing some changes. Though its legendary leader, Hayao Miyazaki did retire a little while ago, the studio isnt shutting its doors despite rumours. The announcement was referring to the fact they are intending to take a break from feature film productions. Toshio Suzuki, general manager of the company stated “When I think about the future of Ghibli, I suppose it’s not entirely impossible for us to proceed with our production operations,” he said. “But still, I’d say we should take a brief pause here and think about what should be the next step.” With so many different versions of the story floating around at the moment, we are doing our best not to get overwhelmed with sadness and stay positive!
