Here is Steven M.s experience from the botched circumcision of his son: I took a friends advice and never left my sons side the whole time through the delivery procedure. After the nurses had cleaned him up and run all of there test he was taken to the room behind the glass windows where I stood on the outside for a couple of hours. I was exhausted from lack of sleep but never took my eyes off of him the whole time as my friend advised me. I guess I was afraid someone would take him or drop him or something. Members of both families hurts me to take a break and go have a cup of coffee and a cigarette and get some fresh air from outside. They told me he was going in for a routine 45 minute procedure and by the time I put the car seat in the car it would be time to come get him and go home. Reluctantly I went and hooked up the car seat grab a cup of coffee and then made my way back upstairs to the 7th floor. After an hour and 15 minutes had passed I became concerned and went down the hall to where they had taken him. I told the nurse at the doors that I wanted to see my son. She immediately unlock the doors as quickly as she could and I walked in to a room full of doctors and nurses. I didnt realize that this was not the norm so I spoke up over the chatter and said I want to see my son. All doctors and nurses look at me as if they had just got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and the doctor stuck his hand out to shake my hand and I immediately knew something was wrong. Ive been spotted the nurse who was welled up with tears holding my son. I ask can I see my son and as she turned to show me my son his arms were limp and his little body was grey and lifeless except for a little quiver of his lips. They had cut him pretty deep during the circumcision and had a neurologist from another floor try to stitch him up with three stitches on the inside and four on the outside of his Johnson that was barely the size of a cigarette butt. Since you cannot give an infant pain medication the nurses had to hold him down he must have put up a pretty good fight blood was everywhere the nurses were in tears and he had given himself a hernia. I put my arm around the nurse and assured her that everything was going to be ok and looked at the doctor who was now on the phone calling the Angel Flight team from Nashville. They busted in like the a team and swoop them up and flew him into Nashville where specialist had stopped the bleeding and patch him up. If I ever have another child you can believe that I will never consider circumcision at all!!!
