Here is a University of Arizona notice: The U of A application should be up and running this week! Please encourage any interested students to apply—the earlier the better. UA has a couple important updates and changes which have been made to our application and admissions process. 1. The Personal Statement: Previously, UA’s application included a personal statement which students were required to complete. Moving forward, the personal statement will be optional. Students interested in sharing additional information or experiences that they think will provide UA a better sense of who they are as an applicant are certainly able and encouraged to complete the statement. The optional personal statement is there to help applicants and should be about 500 words in length. 2. Application Turnaround: Students who complete their UA application by October 1st will receive their admissions decision by November 1st. Students who complete their application by November 1st will receive their admission decision by December 1st. Students completing the application after November 1st will be reviewed like last year with a 6-8 week time frame for a decision to be made. Please keep in mind a completed application means the application has been submitted, the high school transcript has been received (transcripts typically take about 3-4 weeks to be mailed and processed), and the application fee has been paid or the application fee waiver has been received.
