Here is a brief explanation on what took place in Neath Port - TopicsExpress

Here is a brief explanation on what took place in Neath Port Talbot Council Chamber yesterday , a more detailed report will follow and the names and the wards of the Councillors that voted against my amendment. Neath Port Talbot Borough Council voted on and set the Budget for the coming Financial year Yesterday. I tabled an amendment to the budget to protect the school crossing patrol personnel for the safety of our children, I believed that School Crossing Patrols was a priority and close to a 1000 people here in the Dulais Valley agreed by signing a petition which was presented to the Council. The Council and the Labour Group obviously felt differently as all those at the meeting voted against my amendment and supported the recommendation on the budget in full. This means I will have to find another way to safeguard our children here in seven sisters and I am already working on a possible solution. Can I take this opportunity in thanking all those people who signed the petition across the dulais valley and further afield, also Mrs Lisa. Phillips for the excellent work she put in, as I said you will have a more detailed report when I have the information on the Councillors who took this decision, so on the grounds of principles and the issue of school crossing patrols I believe I was the only councillor that voted against yesterdays Budget as it stood because of the school crossing patrol situation. Stay tuned everyone as you will be very interested to read my full report and what was said by some Councillors at the meeting yesterday, I believe it may shock everyone across the Borough.
