Here is a comment I made in a forum: thepassivevoice/09/2013/i-still-encourage-anyone-who-feels-at-all-compelled-to-write/#comment-132660 I’m strictly an amateur when it comes to writing but I am fortunate enough to have voice actors to read my work. I tend to specialize in writing short stories or plays in the form of audio drama. I find listening to my own creations told by an actor or a troop of actors is simply magic. Now I feel I am ready to make the next step(or leap head first into a dark chasm) and write my first novel. Soon I will be using my annual leave from work, to write my first draft. My brain feels like it’s in a blender at high speed that is filled with a mixture of fear and excitement. Will I get published? Considering the percentage of manuscripts that get rejected, probably not. Yet this will not deter me. Yet I will not stop writing until I run out of creative ideas which are percolating in my mind. I write not because I want to become famous or rich. I do it because I have to. I write because it is what I am, a writer.
