Here is a copy of the Medicaid Expansion Resolution passed at our September 2013 Meeting: VANKAL TEA PARTY RESOLUTION ON MEDICAID EXPANSION September 2013 Date approved by membership: September 6, 2013 WHEREAS, the short-term funding offered by the Federal Government as an incentive to increase Michigan’s Medicaid rolls is coercive as the primary goal is the implementation of Obamacare, WHEREAS, the acceptance of additional Federal Medicaid money furthers Michigan indebtedness to the Federal Government and thus decreases its Constitutional sovereignty, WHEREAS, Michigan taxpayers would shoulder the burden of the expanded rolls once Federal money is withdrawn, WHEREAS, Medicaid patients receive poor care and suffer diminished health outcomes, WHEREAS, Medicaid funds to doctors are insufficient to cover medical care and office paperwork and the number of doctors accepting new Medicaid patients is declining, WHEREAS, the Federal government must be limited to its constitutionally limited authority, WHEREAS, some Michigan elected Republican officials have recently voted to support Medicaid Expansion in Michigan, BE IT RESOLVED, the VanKal Tea Party continues to oppose the expansion of Medicaid in Michigan and BE IT RESOLVED, The VanKal Tea Party supports free market healthcare solutions.
