Here is a good, short explanation of the horrible situation in Spain regarding solar energy. In short, after a huge boom in solar power some years ago, the Socialist and PP governments have destroyed the confidence of international investors in solar projects in the European country that receives the most solar energy, and now the PP is making it as difficult as possible for people and companies to generate their own power. Some people might call this "treason"!
