Here is a good story. This evening I stopped at Lovers Leap to take in the awesome beauty of the ice palasaides. There was an otherwordly magical feeling in the air there just before dark. One of times you feel like you need to weep because of the beauty. A work truck stopped in the middle of the highway to the east. Of course I wanted to see why they stopped. Just past the bear crossing sign near the entrance to the picnic area, a baby bear ran across the road and up the steep bank. It took me a few seconds to process what I was seeing. I thought bears hibernate in winter. I KNOW. Bears get up and move around some in these parts, not a full flegdged hibernation here. I also dont expect to see a baby bear(ok, cub) in the winter. A real little one. Wish I had caught a picture of her. But I was too busy not believing what I was seeing.
