Here is a great reminder to pick any last cherries and ensure that all windfallen fruit has been cleaned up! This sow and her two cubs has been drawn into the Six Mile community near Nelson to feed on this unnatural food source. Once bears find a food source like this near humans, they can quickly become habituated to being around human noises, sights and smells. Once habituated, bears become more bold in their search for food, often coming into conflict with people in the process. In order to keep bears like this sow and cubs wild, we must remove the attractants!
