Beginners Crochet workshop with Debbie Nicholds Sunday 18th January, 10am till 1pm, Cost £20 (materials not included) The popularity with crochet is huge and this partly due to its versatility, grows a lot quicker and much more forgiving than knitting. Fancy trying your hand at crochet, then come and book your place, it is a giggle! Places available : currently full but if you would like to leave details for future dates. Intermediate Crochet workshop with Debbie Nicholds Sunday 1st February, 10am till 2pm, Cost £20 (materials not included) This workshop is perfect if you have done the beginners and grown in confidence and feel you can take the next step or are you someone who has been doing granny squares forever and would like to learn how to read a simple chart/pattern and also move onto new projects. Places available : English Paper Piecing with Jo Teague Sunday 8th February, 10am till 1pm, Cost £20 (materials not included) Come along and try your hand at English Paper Piecing, seen as a very traditional form of patchwork this technique, is enjoying a comeback as a method of patchwork that lends itself to busy lives, being portable and easy to pick and put down. You will learn the basics to make a small piece of patchwork which you can turn into a coaster or be the start of your quilt! Places available : Drop Spindle Workshop with Gloucestershire Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers Sunday 22nd February, 10am till 4pm, Cost £35 (materials included) Back by popular demand the lovely Sue, will come and teach you how to spin your own wool using a drop spindle. This technique of spinning wool has been around for a long time and is usually favoured before moving onto a spinning wheel. Using a drop spindle can be done either sitting or standing. Spinning your own wool is becoming increasingly popular due to the availability of fleeces and wool & yarn festivals. Places available : 6 Learning Hand Embroidery Techniques with Jo Teague Sunday 1st March, 10am till 1pm, Cost £25 (materials included) On this workshop Queen of Crafty Jo Teague will be teaching how to do a drop cloth sampler, this will involve teaching you 5/6 embroider stitches. Once you have mastered these you can start a small project of your own. Jo will demonstrate how to draw out and transfer your design to fabric. The design could be something of your own idea or there will be plenty of books here to give you inspiration. Places available : 8 Gelli-plate Printing with Kate Andre Sunday 22nd March, 10am till 1pm, Cost £35 (materials included) Suitable for beginners. Kate will teach you how to create very effective images for card making, journals and printing onto fabric for use in patchwork and crafting. Bring a simple silhouette (no bigger than a credit card) to work with - maybe a bird, figure from a magazine, simple shape, leaf. Places available : 8 Thank you
