Here is a little bit about making cold-process goat milk soap. Its hard to take pictures by myself of the process. The first three photos are of the setup, I use 12 feet of counter space, basically three stations. The measuring station, the mixing station and the pouring station. The next picture shows the bowl of liquid oils (olive & castor) and the bowl of melted solid oils (coconut, palm, shea butter), they are then combined into one bowl. Next I need to put on my safety goggles and gloves because we are going to create soap with sodium hydroxide. The pan has my goat milk ice cubes and sodium hydroxide, this needs to melt and dissolve and is then added to the big bowl of oils. Then I use a stick blender to saponify the oils with the sodium hydroxide, this is the chemical reaction that creates soap. I then add my scents and colors. Then pour the soaps into the molds. The soap will then sit until it can be taken out of the molds, cut and sit to cure for a month.
