Here is a little tidbit from the mind of Lampros. I know more than a little about manufacturing, distribution, and the supply chain, in general. Manufacturing is the first crucial step in the supply chain, aside from acquisition of raw materials. When left unchecked by union thugs and socialist morons, hell-bent on harming the US economy, manufacturing serves several key roles: it provides good paying jobs with upward mobility potential, it often provides training of key skill or continuing education in specific trades, it produces unique goods and services for market/consumer demands, its production directly affects GDP and GNP, and it often allows business owners to branch out and diversify, having the effect of multiplying all the aforementioned roles and adding to the individual wealth of the officers and overall liquidity of the company. Unfortunately, in America under the obama regime, whose entire administration are pretty much clueless as to what makes business, supply chain, and the free market work, policies are being implemented to undermine and limit business and free markets, save those who pledge crony allegiance to the liberal regime. Manufacturing is at the backbone of any national economy, except for, perhaps, the most primitive, uncivilized societies. Even sub-cultures like the Amish and the Hari-Krishnas manufacture goods for trade with the outside world in order to attain items and services they require. Manufacturing is so important that any dictator, despot, or communist/socialist leader knows that it is very important for them to nationalize manufacturing, at least to some degree in order to control it. The next time you talk on a phone, use a fork and knife, fire a weapon, drive a car, etc rest assured that you are enjoying the fruits of the labor of manufacturing. The late Zig Ziglar did a bit on why sales is so important, but it also sheds light on the importance of manufacturing and how everything fits together like teeth in a set of gears. When we allow the daft and the nefarious to throw a cog in the gears of our economy, our very society, we are allowing ourselves to be controlled and enslaved.
