Here is a mini Blog- Sinus infections. Everytime I get a cold it turns into a sinus issue. Horrible sinus headaches. I get frustrated, go to the Doc and they prescribe antibiotics. For over ten years I did this and it never helps. Antibiotics do not work on sinus infections. After years of going through this cycle I found a doctor who finally explained that keeping the sinus passages open with simple warm salt water early in the cold, will cut down on the length of time of the infection. It takes about 10 days to run through the sinus infection with or without antibiotics. I dont do Neti pots or saline solution drops. Take a half cup of warm (as warm as you can handle) water, add salt (salty like the ocean), stir and snort it over your basic bathroom sink. I put the saltwater in my hand and snort. It will be uncomfortable and it is gross. All the gross stuff will drip out. Do this 2-3 times a day especially before bed and then Nyquil. I promise a little relief and shorten the time of the infection.
