Here is a new update on the status of my photos. Well guess - TopicsExpress

Here is a new update on the status of my photos. Well guess what? Remember the whole fiasco with the data recovery software and me going back and forth with tech support? Well Ive asked twice now for a refund. It doesnt look like Im going to get one. Then did some research online and come to find that other people are having the same problem with the software not working, and are having trouble getting a refund, and that people are being scammed, and being charged multiple times for things they didnt buy. When I was looking for a software to fix this problem that my computer is having, I read the reviews on cnet which is usually full of reputable ratings and reviews ...and a couple of other places, and everyone raved about the quality of the product and said they have had no problems with it. So, naturally I felt that the software was a good choice. As you know it wouldnt even install. I worked with the tech support, and they told me several things to do, but the ultimate conclusion was that its not compatible with my operating system, even though it was stated on their website that it was compatible. Apparently other people had the same problem with the same operating system. So it is misrepresentation of whats compatible. Two days ago it came to a head and I asked for a refund and I have not heard back. Other people have not heard back either when they have asked for refunds. I may email them again and remind them, at least so I can have the last word as Im certain they wont respond given other peoples experiences. There is no phone number to call them, only email. They have $64 of my parents money, and Im back at square one with no access to my files. Im going to have to take the whole computer to someone now and hope they can get the 3 years worth of NEF and DMG files back at least because those are the originals of the photos I have taken. I dont think Ill ask to isolate any JPG files to retrieve because they will find all the JPGs that Ive deleted over the past 3 years and I really have no desire to sift and sort through all what will amount to be 1,000s of JPGs plus the originals of the photos Ive taken. It will take plenty enough time with the originals and what I need mostly is those. Ill just have to sacrifice the JPGs even though I know I am losing some family photos. Including the two black and white ones of my late grandfather in a hat, one of which won 1st place in a photography contest. I just dont have time, my life is too busy anymore. I need to get the originals, reedit all of them and start selling them. My fathers best friend wants a print of the pier, and thinks he knows someone else who would. I need to get that one done first. I also need to ask if there is a reputable software to get lost files off of a SD camera memory card. I have been running a trial of a different software that works flawlessly. Only thing is you have to have paid for the full version in order to save your files, and the software found 257 photos on the card mostly deleted ones so that is good, and this software does get true good reviews and looks legitimate. But Im going to hold off for now until I talk to someone about my computer. I dont want to go through this mess again. Do not do business with tenorshare
