Here is a personal story to inspire and motivate you today! On top of having a super fun, and free fun run today we are celebrating one of our good friends and customers Sheri Brechts 1 year Runiversary!! Here is what Sheri had to say about the last 12 month journey:: Wow!! Today is my 1 year RUNIVERSARY! 1 year ago, I started the couch to 5k plan. Right from the start, it was hard for me to run 90 seconds (yes, you read that right, 90 seconds!) I knew if I stuck with it, I would some day run a 5k. It the past year, I have done several 5ks, two 10ks and my first half marathon is coming up in a couple of weeks. It is still not easy for me, but I continue to push myself, being satisfied, with my progress over the past 12 months. If I can do it, anyone can do it! There are a lot of people who have gotten me where I am today. I will only mention a few, but if you have listened to me talk about running, encouraged me when I felt defeated, congratulated me, etc., than you are very special to me! Thank you Kim Bell Whitney and Courtney Whitney, for getting me started on this journey. Keri Geiger for being one of the first people, that I talked to about running and assuring me, that the program was not setting me up to fail! To my sister Jamie Ebright Richardson and mom Ruth Anne Mizer for always encouraging me. Thank you Nicole Whitmore for being a great running buddy and race partner. And last but not least Rodys Dancer for running beside me, pushing me to keep on pressing on, and for helping me train for this half marathon, when she isnt even doing it with me! I say all of this because I am proud of myself and how far I have become, but also because I know there are some people, who have wanted to start running, and just need to know that it is possible, with the right attitude, determination and dedication, it can be done. Come out tonight at 5:30pm at the store to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and to celebrate running :) Hope to see you there!
