These calls can be broken down into the following categories: Fire: 2 EMS/Rescue: 18 Hazardous Condition: 1 Service Call: 5 Good Intent: 2 False Call: 11 Sunday, November 28 at approximately 2:26 pm: E2 was dispatched on a report of a possible brush fire. Initial dispatch information indicated a 120 square foot brush fire was rapidly spreading. E2 requested the response of E4 and B1 due to how fast the fire was spreading. C3 and E11 also responded for manpower. E2 arrived on scene to find a large brush fire several feet off the roadway. Command was established and crew members pulled 250’ of hose to reach the fire. E4, B1, E11 and C3 arrived on scene and joined E2 in extinguishing the fire and overhauling the area to ensure total extinguishment. Once the area was made safe, all units returned to quarters. Tuesday, November 30 at approximately 5:37 pm: All units were dispatched on a report of a residential structure fire in District 4. Initial dispatch information indicated that an oven was on fire. E4 arrived on scene to find a two story residential structure with nothing showing. Command was established by E4’s officer as personnel entered the structure to check for hazards. Light smoke was encountered upon entry into the kitchen. E2 arrived on scene and was directed to assist with ventilation of the structure as well as to shut off the gas supply to the home. C3 arrived on scene and assumed command while all other responding units were instructed to stage at their current location. After investigation it was determined that plastic dishes being stored inside the oven had ignited causing a small fire. The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire with a home fire extinguisher prior to BFR arrival. Crew members ventilated the smoke from the home and checked for any possible fire extension. After further examination no additional hazards were found and damage from the fire was minimal. Command was terminated and all BFR units returned to service.
