Here is a thought for your Labor Day 2015. You must entice people to listen TO you before you can entice them to buy FROM you. How often have you looked around and wondered why your sales are low? There could be several causes for this problem, but for Makers and Handmade Entrepreneurs, one of the chief reasons is because you are looking for the sales before you are looking for the audience. Audience? Why do I need an audience? Im not a hip hop star! Im selling consumer products. I have heard this before. You may not be a hip hop star, but just like a hip hop star, you are trying to sell something that you made. And just like a hip hop star, the only people who are going to buy what you made are the people within your sphere of influence. If there is no one there for the hip hop star, guess what? No sales. Likewise, if there is no one in your sphere of influence, theres the same result. No matter what you sell or who you sell it to, its the audience that buys it. The fans. The supporters. The cheerleaders. The roadies. Whatever you call them, they are the people in your audience, and because they can choose from a million consumer products (or hip hop songs) just like yours, you have ti entice them. You have to persuade them. You have to invite them and engage with them before you can expect them to fork over their hard earned cash for what you have to offer. You must entice people to listen TO you before you can entice them to buy FROM you. What do you think?
