Here is a video of a fish I caught Wednesday 8th October 2014 in New Zealand. It weighed 4-5lb and was a male brown trout. So much for browns hugging the bottom and looking for something to hide under!! This was my first cast in this location. Using a 10grm Toby black and gold stripe lure (incidentally made in NZ), 6lb line, ultralight Daiwa Presso rod, and $22 imported Chinese reel :-) Nik and I caught 5 trout this day, releasing 3 of them, the rest for the smoker. If you are wondering why Im looking around, it is to shout out to Nik to bring the net!! The music is Four Seasons in One Day by Crowded House, sung by Latafale Auvaa with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra. Check out the full moon and fantastic conditions on the day. Very lucky to have fished in NZ. Will be going back soon. This video was damaged somehow, so it doesnt show the whole story of Nik netting the fish and me holding and releasing it shortly after. It was a really nice fish to look at.
