Here is a video of capturing a bushy-tailed woodrat (also called a pack rat) in our garage. I captured it in a live trap. It was stealing apples, cat food, and anything it could find to eat for a while. It stored the food in the most inaccessible places it could find in the garage. We have four cats and youd think we wouldnt have a rodent problem! However, as you can see in the video its a BIG rat that looks like a chinchilla body with a rats head. The cats catch and kill mice, but apparently the rat was too intimidating for them to tackle. This was a first test of a Bushnell HD animal cam Kathy bought me for Christmas. It can take photo and/or video images triggered by motion or heat (infrared). I set up the live trap with peanut butter, nuts and cat food as bait. The sequence of images were taken in the dark while we slept. I released the rat a couple of miles down the road. I hope I dont see it again!
