Here is an interesting question for you: if the Broncos win the Super Bowl this year, and Vegas odds say they will, does Peyton Manning walk away? Another ring would cement his legacy, his got a bad neck, and hell be 39 at the start of the 2015 season. Also, his offense, Welker, and both J and D Thomas are free agents after this year. Itll be difficult to pay everybody. So Peyton would retire, right? Well, not so fast. First, there is Mannings known love for the game--hes still having fun. Second, hes pulling in 28million a year between salary and endorsements--a number that a SB win would only raise. He still has two more years on his deal, and is playing at a very high level, and NFL rule changes make everything easier for him. Does s sane man walk away from 56 million dollars? He has a net worth of 115 million, so these big paydays are big money to him as hes increasing his net worth by about 25% each year he plays. If he plays two more years, he also could get a third ring, which I think would end all the arguments about who is the greatest QB of all time, but theres more. If I know anything about great athletes, I know the are more competitive and driven to greatness than their peers, hell, than normal people. He just broke Brett Favres TD record, and has a chance to put the record out of reach forever; he could reach 600 (Gasp) TD passes. But check this: he is currently about 5000 passing yards behind Farve for the top spot in career passing yards. Manning would bust through that record in weeks 4 or 5 next season. I have to believe both Peyton and the NFL would love to push the pill popping, penis texting, drama queen Farve out the top spots.
