Here is another older but interesting study on vitamin D and insulin resistance. Many of you reading this have both vitamin D deficiency and insulin resistance. They are both at epidemic levels in Canada. Guess what? Taking vitamin D, (and if you are taking it you probably just take it during the winter and not enough even then), will make you less insulin resistant. That means your risk of diabetes goes down and along with that cardiovascular disease, Alzheimers disease, kidney disease, and more. Vitamin D is also essential for mood. Considering this is one of the cheapest vitamin supplements out there, it is well worth picking up a bottle and getting started. Make sure it is vitamin D3, most of the supplements out there are. Personally, I digest the drops much better than the tablets.
