Here is another photo of Brad Hannon with me, crowning Rhonda - TopicsExpress

Here is another photo of Brad Hannon with me, crowning Rhonda Wasson Homecoming Queen in 1972. This is from an article on the Homecoming events from the Fort Bragg Advocate News dated 11/15/72. The text concerning this part said, In keeping with the theme of The Fifties, they showed up in outfits of that long-ago era and bunny-hopped their way through the spirited rally....Friday saw everyone clad in clothes that could have belonged to their folks and saw the queen crowned at the deafening, but super-spirited rally. Rhonda Wasson, Block FBs candidate, was elected Queen. She was escorted to her victory by Wolf Quarterback Roy Perkins. Susan Figueiredo, ASB President, officiated at the crowning, but her escort, Bradford Elvis Hannon, stood in for her when it came time to kiss the queen. Ironically, a few short years later, I was kissing girls myself (and liking it) so I should have just done the job myself! It was tradition for the Student Body President to kiss the Homecoming Queen but I had my boyfriend do it for me! We crowned her with a football helmet because the crown was temporarily misplaced. Sadly, both Brad and Rhonda have already moved on to the other side of the veil. Both super people who are gone too soon. I am wearing lipstick and nail polish in this photo, something I did not do in real life back then. Notice also the POW/MIA bracelet. Remember them? I am wearing a suit that my godmother had worn in the 50s and Brad is wearing a suit and tie from that era that belonged to my dad. He couldnt resist is hippie bandana headband though! I loved that boy!
