Here is another piece of news that RTE thinks that you dont need to know. Child poverty, defined as children living in households where income is below the poverty line, rose in Ireland from 18 per cent in 2008 to 28.6 per cent in 2012. Ireland was ranked 37th of 41 EU and OECD countries analysed, with only Croatia, Latvia, Greece and Iceland faring worse. While the government are waxing idiotic about how their administration has improved things in Ireland, UNICEF among others would seem to disagree. Of 41 countries surveyed, only 4 countries are deemed worse than Ireland for child poverty. And today they were congratulating themselves about unemployment being at a 4 year low. Its very easy to massage the jobless figures when they have 1,000s of people on ScamBridge, sorry, JobBridge and 500,000 people or so (approximately 12.5% of the population have immigrated since 2008...
