Here is another story that her mother, Wathena, wrote about Lex. My heart is very heavy...... Today was lexs first day to ride a bus, she was so excited thats all she talked about the whole way to school. Well as we was leaving the class the elevator that carries her down wouldnt work!!!!! As her whole class walks away in their straight little line not even given us a second glance I see lex looking so sad. I hear a little boys voice say lexys mom maybe the door at the bottom isnt shut.... He checks the door but that didnt work I was worried it was taking us so long I told the little boy who always seems to be so helpful to go ahead and catch up with the class. I tell lex I would have to carry her down the steps then walk back up to get her walker the whole time she doesnt say a word or even look up.... Then I see Rosa I think is her name anyway she works at the school she said I got this lex put your arms around her neck carried lex down the stairs I followed with her walker. Lex gives rosa a big smile and says thats the way!!!! I thank the lady and look around realizing I have no idea where the class went the hall ways were empty...... I see my little girls excitement fading... Then I see her teacher so back in line we go the little boy who was trying to help us with the door says here lex stand by me..... I give a big sigh of relief!!!!! I was so relieved the struggle was over... We line up waiting for the bus I should add down a very steep incline it was a struggle to hold her walker from rolling away..... In line lex saw her little friend from the other class and my lexys smile was back. Well her little friend had to get on a different bus. Then comes me carrying lex on the bus I place her in the first seat go back to get her walker fold it up and sit it in the opposite seat from lex.... As all the kids in her class pass her by she looks at me with her big sad blue eyes and says mommy I dont got a seat buddy my heart hurt to see that look on her face so I get up and walk to the back of the bus where her class was sitting and kindly ask her teacher to please seat someone next to lex I might add I was fighting back tears..... When I hear the sweat little boys voice say I will be lexys buddy!!!!!!! He had the biggest smile on his face as he walks up to lexys seat with the biggest smile and sets next to lex...... Then we get to the cc for camp bandage I get lex off the bus and make our way in.... Her little buddy by her side.... As I left lex with her nurse my heart hurt so bad!!!!! Why is life so hard for my little lex why must she have so many struggles????
