Here is my latest micro controller project. I call it the IP Sniffer and what it does is, when connected to a Data Port or a Data Switch Port, is to tell you the local IP Address, and subnet mask, it has been allocated by the DHCP Server, so that not only can you tell that there is indeed a connection to the network, but what network it is on. It will also tell you the IP Address of the Default Gateway, and the DNS Server. I now have proof of concept, and just have to tidy up the software, reprogram, the micro controller, and find a suitable case for it. I reckon I could sell this for around £45 which is a bargain for this type of device, and have orders in the pipeline already.
