Here is my speech from last weeks confrontation with TransCanada pipelines. - Today we stand here on un surrendered, untreatied Gitxsan territory. We stand in solidarity with frontline indigenous peoples worldwide. What you see here is a symbolic gesture of the inevitable effects of the oil and gas industry in our community. Transcanada comes here today offering prosperity and jobs. Its the same old story.. But history clearly shows the intentions of money hungry corporations like TransCanada and Enbridge. They will stop at nothing to exploit our communities resources to make profits for their self interested shareholders. Our community refuses to sit idle. We Will take a stand for our future. Not in opposition... but in support of our salmon, clean water, in support for fresh air and healthy communities!
