Hello All - My name is Graham Briggs - I belong to the Wurundjeri-balluk & Wurundjeri-willam clansmen, my clans land is from Yarra Valley, Yarra River catchment area to Heidelberg. My Grand fathers father Alex Wandin, later change his name to Briggs, was the son of Annie Barak (Borat) & nephew of William Barak, traditional owners of the area which today as we know it.........Melbourne. Great grandfather married a Yorta Yorta women by the name of Minnie Atkinson, hance my Yorta Yorta Nation line. I have previously worked at the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency and the Victim Support Agency in the Department of Justice. Graham was the Hume Regional Coordinator for the Department of Human Services’ Indigenous family violence strategy for eight years. As the only male worker in this role in Victoria for several years he represented male interests at regional and statewide meetings.
