Here is the Beatles fifth Christmas message. From 1967 (recorded in late November, issued in December). Christmas Time (Is Here Again) The Beatles Fifth Christmas Record. Produced by George Martin. As was the case with the 1966 message, the 1967 message was an elaborate production mirroring, in many ways, the elaborate nature of the Beatles music at that time. Actor Victor Spinetti and the Beatles personal assistant, Mal Evans, make appearances on the recording. At the center of this message was the original song, Christmas Time (Is Here Again). Written by all four Beatles, the song exceeded six minutes in length in its entirety, but only sections of it were used in the actual message. The full version has never been released commercially, but, an edited, three minute composite was created by George Martin and issued as the B-side of the Free As A Bird single in 1995. This is the only time a piece of the Beatles Christmas recordings has ever been issued commercially. In 1999, Ringo did his own version of Christmas Time (Is Here Again) for his album I Wanna Be Santa Claus. This is the last time all four Beatles would work in unison on one of their Christmas greetings.
