Here is the Kirk update. He has the MDS disease which is basically leukemia. He has another issue that deals with "blast" cells. So yesterday he went to the dr to repeat blood tests and talk about starting treatments and I am thrilled to announce thatAll his levels had improved! Praise God. Kirk says "thanks for prayers and keep them coming". 2 of his levels are still pretty severe but he told the dr that he will hold off another week when they retest blood levels again. His sister is beginning the process to see if she is a match for a bone marrow transplant. He will need that should the treatments not work. He is type B-. Yes, we all thought and so did he, that he was type O but not the case. Did you realize that with todays technology, to be a donor for a bone marrow transplant, all that is required is like donating blood? Here is my plug for the necessity for donors again and the difference you can make! I see God working like only HE can within Kirk. I could hear the drastic difference from when I visited him on Saturday to his encourgagement over the phone last night. He is certainly in need of continued prayer so just truly appreciate all of yours. Also, he would really like to speak to a leukemia survivor so anyone with connections, pass along.
