Here is the final #WorldCup post from our on-the-ground reporter, Leticia! Thanks for giving us an insight into all the excitement that has been going on in Rio! Read below and check out the final photos! Oh no, the #WorldCup is over! I can’t believe this month has passed, how time flies! After a nerve-wracking game until the final minutes of extra time, #Germany is officialy #2014 #FIFA #WorldCup Brazil’s Champion, and has now 4 stars on their jersey! I watched the final at the German Embassy with 1300 other Germany fans, and partied with the new world champions after the match! What an incredible feeling and beautiful celebration, #MarioGoetze made 2 countries happy with one single shot! Now I can say I truly lived the World Cup and I’m very honored to have experienced and covered it at my country.n Something that used to be exclusively on television was right here, surrounding me everywhere! This international atmosphere I’m going to miss so much is coming to an end and the results are positive - I’ve seen many foreigner tourists thanking for such an awesome Cup and for the unique brazilian hospitality we have provided. Here’s a bit of the World Cup in numbers: This cup had the highest number of goals scored, with 171, this tied with #1998 in France, an average of 2.67 goals per game. #MiroslavKlose scored 2 goals, now the top scorer in history of the World Cups, with 16 goals. Tim Howard, USA’s goalkeeper, made 16 defences at the game against Belgium, a new record. 3,6 billion people watched the World Cup games, it means half of the World’s population followed it. This just proves football can really bring people together. Seems just unreal that a sport event can reach such a vast audience! Congratulations to the German team, a well deserved title and many thanks to all the fans at the stadium, on the streets, on the internet, and to the 1 million visitors from abroad, who have made this event one of the best World Cups ever! I already miss the matches and can really say I just had an unique time in my life. I am already excited for 2018! Best wishes from a proud Brazil, Your Leticia
